The 2023 referendum in Australia aimed to recognize Indigenous Australians within the constitution by establishing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. This proposed body would have had the authority to advocate to the Parliament and Executive Government on issues concerning Indigenous peoples.
